Hosting my Sunday drive-time show on LBC

I am thrilled to have been shortlisted for the ‘Best Newcomer of the Year’ award in the nominations for the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards 2012.

It has been an amazing experience presenting my weekly Sunday drive-time show on LBC 97.3 over the last eight months. I have interviewed a huge range of high profile people on issues dominating the headlines of the day – which really matter to the people of London. I have also had the pleasure of talking to and getting to know the views of lots of listeners through our many spirited debates.

From covering the death of the Lockerbie bomber live on air just after the news had been confirmed (and speaking to Dr Jim Swire, one of the victim’s fathers straight away) – to following the mission of the Remploy workers determined not to let their factories be shut down by the Government – we bring Londoners (and our greatly valued listeners further afield) – the most important news of the day.

Mr Carl McQueen, my chocolate and footie-obsessed producer, is great to work with – so go on – give him a little follow on Twitter. His numbers needs a boost….

And keep up to date with the best bits from my show via the free weekly bitesize podcast we share here each week. You can also read my thoughts after each show via my LBC blog.

Fingers crossed for the awards ceremony July 4th. It would be the icing on the cake to walk away with such a respected gong for my radio work.
